Six Qatari engineers from Qatargas have completed a training programme with Chiyoda Corporation in Japan. The objective of the training was to provide the young engineers with practical knowledge in terms of design and engineering techniques of gas and hydrocarbon processing plants.
Chiyoda Corporation is a leading Japanese engineering company specialising in the construction of industrial facilities, particularly oil refineries and LNG plants.
Chiyoda has been involved in the construction of Qatargas’ LNG production facilites in Ras Laffan.
A special ceremony was held at Chiyoda’s head office in Japan to mark the successful completion of the training programme. Qatargas Chief Operating Officer (engineering and ventures) Sheikh Khalid bin Abdulla al-Thani represented the company at the ceremony.
