Safety Forum 2019

On 10 December 2019, Chiyoda Almana participated at the annual Contractors’ Safety Forum organized by
Qatargas (sole LNG plant operator in Qatar). The event is an open platform that provides an opportunity to
network and collaborate with leadership teams, showcase HSE programs, communicate long term strategies and
plans on critical HSE issues, and to share learnings and concerns to support Qatargas shared journey towards
delivering a premier HSE performance.

The message delivered during that event by Qatargas was ensuring that contractors, like Chiyoda Almana, play a
vital role in every aspect of Qatargas business, and with major expansion and development projects planned
over the next few years, Qatargas will be relying more than ever on the commitment and support of contractors.
As one of the main contactors to Qatargas , Chiyoda Almana management were presented at the event and
renewed company’s commitment to extend full engagement and support to Qatargas ongoing and future
projects.
As an outcome of the Round Table Exercise ‘The Way Forward’ that was held during the forum, Qatargas
generated some perceptive insights to formulate future strategy for the coming year. Following predominant
responses from this exercise are;
 Extend Contractor SMEs involvement, including coaching, mentoring and support.
 Increase Contractor management engagement (including Safety Walks).
 Develop processes and systems to ensure business continuity, with an emphasis on relying on systems
instead of people.
 Ensure compliance with qualifications requirements and competency verification .
 Adopt and implement Qatargas vision, and embed Qatargas Safety Culture.
