Chiyoda Awarded Engineering, Procurement, and Construction Management (EPCm) Services for Qatargas Helium (II) Project

Chiyoda Corporation (“Chiyoda”) (TSE: 6366; ISIN: JP3528600004), Japan’s leading engineering and construction firm, today announces that Qatargas Operating Company Limited (“Qatargas”) has awarded a contract to Chiyoda Almana Engineering L.L.C (“CAEL”, a subsidiary company of Chiyoda in Qatar) for the Engineering, Procurement and Construction Management (EPCm) Services of the Qatargas Helium (II) project.

2．Project Scope ： EPCm for Helium Extraction Unit facilities for Qatargas Trains 4, 5, 6 and 7, Crude Helium interconnection line, and Crude Helium transfer line to Refining Unit.

3．Contract Type ： Reimbursable

4．Completion ： November 30, 2012

The existing Helium Extraction Unit facilities were constructed by Chiyoda. The new units, to be constructed on a vacant, ready-prepared site, will extract crude helium and transport it to the Helium Refining Unit in RasGas plot.

CAEL was established in 2008, principally to provide services for post-construction plant operation on small to medium sized projects and to contribute to the further growth of Qatar. CAEL has been steadily increasing its staffing level, which currently stands at 260 people, and is planning to expand its organization to 290 people by the end of this year.
